Size it to the cable. The 50A rating protects the wiring, not the appliance, so run at least 8 B&S to it and pick a breaker your cable can carry all day. A load that regularly sits near 50A will trip it eventually, so leave headroom.
Yes, for occasional isolation. Pushing the button opens the circuit on demand, and resetting is a separate deliberate action, so nothing comes back on by accident. It is not a daily switch though, so fit a proper battery isolator for routine work and keep the breaker for faults and servicing.
As close to the power source as you can get it, so the cable it protects is not left bare for a metre first. The IP67 body and ignition protection mean an engine bay or battery box is fine; it still wants a solid mount that does not shake loose.
