A 120A manual-reset circuit breaker for 12–48V DC systems, sized for DC-DC charger feeds, solar controller inputs and the run between a battery and a busbar. It resets by hand, so a fault costs you a button press rather than a spare fuse you did not pack.

The F-style base mounts on the surface, the body seals to IP67, and it is ignition protected — so it can live in an engine bay or battery box where fuel vapour is a possibility. The push button opens the circuit on demand for isolation; resetting is a separate, deliberate action. Size the cable to the breaker, not to today's load: the breaker protects the cable, so the cable has to carry what the breaker will pass.

Common questions about AllSpark Circuit Breakers - Surface Mount 120A

Why 120A instead of 100A?

Headroom on the same cable. Both want 4 B&S minimum with a 25mm lug, so stepping to 120A gives a hard-working DC-DC feed or busbar run a little more margin before it trips, without rewiring. Do not use that as an excuse to protect undersized cable with a bigger number.

What happens if it trips while I am driving?

Everything downstream goes dark and stays that way until you press the button. That is deliberate — an auto-reset device closing back onto a real short is how fires start. Fit it somewhere you can reach at a roadside stop, and have a look before you reset it.

Does it need protecting from vibration?

Bolt it to something that does not flex and it will be fine. The enemy is a breaker hanging off its own cables on a corrugated road — that loads the studs and works the nuts loose. Solid base, supported cable either side, nuts torqued to 5.6 N•m and checked after a trip.
