A 30A manual-reset circuit breaker in a flush-mount body, sized for lighting circuits, a water pump, a fan or a USB panel. The breaker sits behind the panel with only the reset button and studs presented, which suits a switch panel, battery box lid or purpose-built distribution board.

Sealed to IP67 and ignition protected, it resets by hand rather than consuming a fuse. Size the cable to the breaker rating, not to the load you happen to be running today.

What sort of circuit is 30A for?

The middle of the small stuff — a decent lighting run, a water pump, a fan, a USB panel that all share one feed. It asks for 5mm cable as a minimum with yellow crimps, which is a step up from the smaller breakers, so plan the wire before the hole.

Where should it sit relative to the battery?

As close to the power source as you can manage. Everything between the battery and the breaker is unprotected cable, so a long unguarded run defeats the purpose. Keep it accessible too — a breaker you cannot reach is a breaker you will not reset in the dark.

Will engine bay heat set it off early?

It is rated to operate up to +85°C, which covers most engine bays, but heat and current add up. Give it some airflow, keep it away from the turbo and the exhaust manifold, and if a circuit already runs near its rating, the hot end of summer is when you will notice.
