Common questions

What's the point of a three-way holder over three separate ones?

One mount, three angles. You drill once and get a spread of rod positions from a single fitting, which suits a tinnie where there's little flat gunnel to work with. The catch is that all three rods load one set of bolts, so back it properly.

Does SS316 mean I can stop worrying about rust?

It means you can stop worrying about serious corrosion, not about marks. 316 is the grade that copes with salt spray and coastal air, but it still picks up tea staining — fine brown speckling on the surface. A freshwater rinse and the odd polish keeps it looking right.

Can I mount it on an aluminium tinnie?

Yes, with care. Stainless against bare aluminium in salt sets up galvanic corrosion, and it's the alloy that gives way, not the fitting. Isolate them with Tef-Gel or Duralac on the threads and a gasket under the base, then seal the holes. Check it every couple of seasons.
