Common questions

Do I actually need 4kW?

Only if the space is big or leaky. Long vans, motorhomes and bus conversions justify it; a small van does not, and an oversized heater spends its life idling and cycling, which builds carbon and shortens the run between services. Size to the space, not to the worst night you can imagine.

How much room does it need to install?

More than a small unit, and the ducting is the part people underestimate. You need a space with clear floor under it, a path for the exhaust, and room to run duct to each outlet without tight bends that choke airflow. Measure the cupboard before you commit to it.

Will 12V handle a heater this size?

Yes, provided the wiring does. The glow plug pulls hardest at start-up, and a thin run of cable or a tired battery shows up as a failed start on the coldest morning of the trip. Run heavy cable straight from the house battery with its own fuse.
