Common questions about 2 Person Picnic Basket Set Outdoor

Does it keep food cold?

No. There is no insulated section listed in the set — it is a carrier for the plates, cups and cutlery, and the food rides with it. Pack anything that needs to stay cold in a separate soft esky and use the basket for the setting, the bread and the fruit.

Will it survive being thrown in the boot every weekend?

Treat it as a basket, not a crate. The handles are reinforced and the clasp holds the lid shut in transit, but wicker style weave does not love having a camp chair stacked on it. Slide it in last, upright, and it will keep its shape for years.

Who is this set actually for?

Two people having a proper sit down lunch — a lookout, a winery, an afternoon at the caravan park. A family of four needs two sets or a separate stack of plates. If you want a rugged kit for a fortnight of bush camping, a plastic tub does that job better.
