One of our favourite city escapes, Beaufort, a town about two hours drive 158km northwest of Melbourne.

It is an easy drive along the Western Highway which runs between Adelaide and Melbourne and Beaufort is just 30 minutes from either Ballarat or Ararat.

It really is a “breath of fresh air” escape for a few days to explore the attractions of this authentic Victorian country area, as well as to have a relaxing break.

The Koonwarra store has been a main stay go to for the local community in Koonwarra since 1892 and is now a very popular stop in for campers and day trips traffic to Wilson Prom and the East Gippsland area more generally.
