One of our favourite city escapes, Beaufort, a town about two hours drive 158km northwest of Melbourne.
It is an easy drive along the Western Highway which runs between Adelaide and Melbourne and Beaufort is just 30 minutes from either Ballarat or Ararat.
It really is a “breath of fresh air” escape for a few days to explore the attractions of this authentic Victorian country area, as well as to have a relaxing break.
