Common questions

How does an antenna keep dust out of the van?

It runs a fan that pushes air in and holds the inside of the van at slightly higher pressure than outside, so dust gets pushed out through the gaps instead of sucked in behind you. The antenna and the fan share the one roof unit and one hole.

Will the fan keep me awake?

At 3dB it is a low hum rather than a drone, and most people stop noticing it within a night. It draws 6W for the whole unit, so running it through a full day on a dirt road is not a serious dent in a house battery.

Will it work on a van that is not well sealed?

Only partly. Positive pressure works with your seals, not instead of them. A van with a perished door seal or a gap around a hatch will bleed the pressure away faster than the fan can make it. Sort the obvious leaks first and the system works.
