Common questions about 40 Litre Footwell Poly Diesel Tank
Will it fit my 4WD?
Measure the footwell before anything else. It runs 1200 mm long across the floor behind the front seats, and the cutouts are shaped for a specific tunnel, 110 mm high and 420 mm wide at the base, plus a console cutout. A taller tunnel and it will not sit flat.
How does the fuel get out of it?
Gravity, through the 1/2" BSPT brass outlets at each end. That means it has to sit higher than whatever you are filling, or you are using a pump. There is no lift built into it, so plan the plumbing and the vent before you decide where it lands.
What does 40 litres do to the back seat?
Diesel is heavy, and 40 L of it plus the 5 kg tank sits behind the front seats, low and central, which is the best place for weight. What it does take is legroom. Anyone riding in the back will have their feet on a ribbed poly lid, not the floor.
