Lanox
It sticks. Lanolin lays down a waxy film that hangs on to metal through salt spray and rain instead of thinning out and running off. That makes it a coating, not a penetrant, so it is the wrong pick for freeing a seized bolt or drying out a wet plug.
That is exactly what it is for, with a rinse and dry first. Salt left under the film keeps working on the metal. Once it is clean and dry, coat the trailer frame, fittings and chain, and it should carry through the off-season.
Anywhere you need grip or a clean surface. Brake discs, pads, the deck, seat bases and anything you paint later. The waxy film is the point, and it does not belong under your feet or on a friction surface. Mask before you coat a frame.
