Can I pack wheel bearings with it?
Not the way you repack a trailer hub. An aerosol puts grease into assembled parts you cannot reach with a gun — winch drums, slides, gear teeth, pivots. A dismantled hub still wants proper marine grease worked in by hand around every roller.
What is the PTFE actually doing?
Leaving a slippery solid film bonded to the metal once the carrier flashes off. That is why it stays put on a spinning shaft or a winch drum that gets dunked, where ordinary grease flings off or washes away. On slow, heavily loaded pivots, thick conventional grease still has the edge.
Where should I keep it away from?
Anywhere you need friction or a clean surface — brake rotors, pads, drive belts, and rubber you plan to glue or clamp. Aerosol overspray drifts further than you expect, so mask the area or spray onto a rag and wipe it exactly where you want it.
