What else do I need to order with it?

The compressor comes on its own — no control unit, no line set. If the fridge died suddenly with no warning, the control unit (part 4441000010) is often the actual culprit and is far easier to swap. Diagnose properly before committing to the bigger job.

Can I fit this myself?

No. Swapping a compressor opens the sealed R134a circuit, which in Australia means an ARCtick-licensed refrigeration technician. Line one up before you order the part, because the compressor is only half the job, and not every workshop takes on portable fridge work. Ring around your local refrigeration mob first.

Will it suit a non-Dometic fridge?

Often, yes. The BD35F is the compressor inside a long list of Australian-market fridges, including Engel, Evakool, National Luna, Vitrifrigo and Isotherm units, as well as Waeco predecessors. Check the label on your own compressor rather than going by the badge on the lid.
