What does the swivel clamp actually buy me?

Room to move. The bracket lets you rotate the whole wheel out of the way instead of loosening the clamp and hauling the shaft up, which matters on a tight drawbar crowded by a gas bottle, a stone guard and a battery box. It also makes hitching alone easier.

Will it fit my drawbar?

Check two things on the drawbar before you order. First, that there is clear space for the clamp to sit and bolt up. Second, that nothing sits in the arc the wheel swings through, because a stone guard or a jerry can holder turns the swivel into dead weight.

Is a solid wheel this size overkill for a small camper?

A bit, yes. The nine kilos and the bigger wheel earn their keep on a heavy tandem van rolling over gravel and lumpy grass. On a light box trailer you are carrying weight you never use, and a smaller wheel is easier to get under a low drawbar.
