What is a 100x10 snap hook actually for?

Heavy attachment you want to undo by hand: a mooring line onto a bow eye, a heavy annexe or shade sail corner, a chain tail you clip on and off. The 10 mm bar is stiff enough that a hard pull will not distort the hook.

Can I trust the gate on something this size?
