Common questions

What do the 4 and the 25 refer to?

The 4 mm is the bar thickness and the 25 mm is the ring measured across the outside. The hole through the middle is smaller than 25 mm once you take the bar off both sides, which catches people out when they order for a set strap width.

What is a ring this small good for?

Light gear: a lanyard on a knife or plug bag, a keeper ring on a canopy, a swivel point for a dog lead, a tidy join between lengths of cord. It is a connector, not a load point, so treat anything heavy as the wrong job.

Why does it stain where the strap sits?

Because that is the spot that never dries. Stainless relies on air to keep its film intact, and a wet strap wrapped around the ring shuts the air out, so salt works away underneath. Slide the webbing around and rinse both when you get home.
