Common questions

What is a triangle ring actually for?

Gathering several lines or straps into one attachment point without them fouling each other. The flat base sits against a webbing loop and the apex takes the shackle or snap hook, so loads share evenly. Common on harnesses, tie-down rigs and awning guy points.

Can I use it for lifting or recovery?

No. There is no published working load limit, so keep it out of overhead lifting, vehicle recovery and anywhere a failure would fly back at someone. It is a rigging and tie-down fitting. Rated gear carries a stamped limit and paperwork to match, and this does not.

Does the shape matter compared with a plain D-ring?

The triangle spreads a webbing strap flat across its base, so the strap does not bunch the way it can in the curve of a D. Against that, the apex is a single narrow point, so anything sitting there wears faster. Check the apex, not the base.
