Will this fit my bimini tube, or do I need to measure first?

Measure the outside diameter of your tube before ordering, not the inside. Side mounts clamp the outside of the tube, and a mount that is a whisker oversize will rock under load until the set-screws chew into the wall. Take the measurement with vernier calipers.

How tight should I do the set-screws up?

Nip them up firm and stop. Stainless galls when you keep winding, and over-tightened screws dimple thin-wall tube so the fitting can never sit square again. A dab of anti-seize on the threads means you can back them out in a year or two instead of drilling them.

Why is mine going brown after a season on the water?

That is tea staining, and it happens to good stainless too. Salt sits on the surface, starves the chromium layer of oxygen and leaves a rust-coloured film. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater trips and bring the shine back with a stainless polish, never steel wool.
