Measure the outside diameter of your rail or bimini tube first. Corner fittings are sized to a specific tube, and a fitting that is close but not right will rattle, wear the tube and eventually let go. Measure with calipers rather than eyeballing it.
On a boat that lives near salt, yes. The 316 grade holds up to salt spray and coastal air far better before it starts marking. On a caravan awning rail inland it is more than you need, though it will still outlast the aluminium around it.
That join is the spot to watch. Stainless against aluminium in salt air sets up galvanic corrosion, and it eats the aluminium, not the fitting. Use an isolating washer or a smear of a marine grease at the interface, and check it each season.
