Stamped means the shape is pressed from sheet rather than cast solid, so the section through the eye is thinner. It suits covers, canopy lines, fender lanyards and general tie-offs. If you want a pad eye for repeated heavy pulls, step up to a cast body.
Not on much of a curve. A flat diamond base wants a flat landing, and forcing it down onto camber puts the load into opposite corners and leaves gaps for water. Pack it with a shaped pad or sealant so it beds evenly before you tighten.
Screws are fine for a cover line or an awning guy on solid timber. Anywhere the pull is real, bolt it through with washers or a backing plate, because a pad eye loaded sideways works the fixings loose and self-tappers in fibreglass give up quietly.
