Common questions
Does the 25mm refer to the tube it fits?
Yes, it is sized for 25mm tube, so measure your rail before ordering rather than eyeballing it. Rail and bimini tubing on Australian boats comes in a few close sizes, and a fitting made for a neighbouring diameter will either rattle or refuse to seat.
What does the angle suit?
It sets the joint at a fixed 60 degrees, so it suits a raked screen frame or a bimini leg running back on an angle rather than a square corner. If your geometry is not close to that, a swivelling jaw slide will suit the job better.
What goes into the thread hole?
The threaded boss takes a machine screw or a tube end that screws in, which is what lets you pull the joint up tight instead of relying on a grub screw biting into the tube. Pick a fastener in the same grade so both metals sit happily together.
