Will it fit my boat's rail?
Measure your rail's outside diameter first. Rail and gunnel sizes vary a lot between tinnies, kayaks and runabouts, and this listing does not state a rail size, so a tape measure beats an assumption. Check the mounting face too if your gunnel is curved.
Can I leave rods in it while I am on the plane?
Not without securing them. The open-top barrel is designed so you can rip a rod out the second something hits, which also means nothing holds it in over a wake or a chop. Use a rod leash, or lay them down for the run.
What angle should I set it to?
Near vertical for soaking a bait or storing a rod out of the way, angled out and low when you are trolling so the line runs clear of the hull. Set it so the rod tip clears the gunnel and nobody walks into the butt.
