Will this work with another brand of tuner?

No. It is coded for the Zylux CAR-TV-HD-IQ tuner and will not drive a generic digital TV tuner, even one that looks identical. If your tuner is a different model, a universal remote is the better path, because this is a like-for-like replacement and nothing else.

Should I keep a spare in the van?
