The head unit does the monitoring, but the trailer receiver module is a separate item and the TD-RS232-TRUCK is not in the box. Plan for sensors too. The radio reads them, it does not supply them, and matching sensor type to the head unit is the bit people skip.
Not usually. DAB+ covers the capitals and larger regional centres, and outside that footprint it drops out entirely rather than going crackly the way FM does. Treat it as the metro and highway option, and lean on AM once you are past the last town.
For a cab, yes. Road noise beats you before the amp does, and most factory speakers are happier on modest power than on a big amp. If you are filling a motorhome living area, run a separate amplifier. This is a head unit, not a sound system.
