Overview

A white 12–24V DC cigarette socket rated 10A, with an IP65 rubber cap over the socket when nothing is plugged in. The standard round outlet for a compressor, a fridge lead or a phone charger.

Terminals are nickel-plated copper 6.3mm spades, so it wires in with standard blade terminals rather than needing a special connector.

Common questions

Will it work on a 24V system?

Yes, it is rated for both 12V and 24V, with headroom to 36V peak so a charging spike will not kill it. That matters in a truck-based camper or a 24V bus conversion, where a socket rated for less is living on borrowed time. The plug still has to suit the appliance.

Do I need a special plug or connector to wire it in?

No. It takes ordinary 6.3mm spade terminals, the same ones in your crimp kit, so it wires in with what you already have. Crimp properly, use heatshrink over the joint, and fuse the positive at the source to suit the cable, not the socket.

Will it flatten my battery if I leave it wired?

No, it draws nothing when nothing is plugged in, so it can stay live without quietly pulling the battery down over a week parked up. What will drain you is what you leave plugged into it, so pull the chargers out when you walk away.
