Overview
The Nortent Vern 1 PC is a premium Norwegian-engineered 4-season solo tent purpose-built for Australia's most demanding conditions — from alpine snowfields and coastal gales to outback desert nights. Its breathable 35% cotton / 65% polyester polycotton flysheet delivers outstanding moisture regulation and natural insulation without a separate inner tent, while three robust 9.5 mm aluminium poles and ten Dyneema®-reinforced guylines form a free-standing structure engineered to withstand severe weather, heavy snow loads, and high-wind environments that Australian adventurers regularly encounter.
Whether you're a solo hiker pushing into the Victorian Alps, a 4WD tourer setting up camp in the Kimberley, or a caravanner needing a compact standalone shelter for off-grid overnight stops, the Vern 1 PC packs down to just 40 × 19 cm — fitting comfortably in a backpack, 4WD load bay, or caravan storage bay. The integrated awning creates covered space for cooking and gear staging, while adjustable mosquito netting on all entrances keeps insects out across every Australian climate zone, from tropical north Queensland to the Snowy Mountains.
Key Features
- Polycotton flysheet (35% cotton / 65% polyester) — no separate inner tent needed, superior breathability and condensation control
- 3 × 9.5 mm aluminium poles + 10 Dyneema®-reinforced guylines — rated for severe weather, alpine snow loads, and coastal storms
- Pitches in 2–3 minutes with an intuitive pole system — immediate shelter in rapidly changing Australian conditions
- Reinforced Oxford nylon floor guards against sharp outback terrain, moisture ingress, and abrasion
- Packs to 40 × 19 cm, 3.2–3.5 kg — fits a backpack, 4WD load bay, or caravan storage bay

Whether you’re setting up camp in the mountains or by the beach, this tent offers excellent ventilation options and a spacious awning, ideal for cooking or storing gear. With plenty of storage solutions and multiple ways to control airflow, including fully adjustable doors and mosquito nets, the Vern 1 PC provides a versatile and reliable shelter no matter the conditions. Hybrid Polycotton Fabric for Optimal Comfort and Durability
The Vern 1 PC flysheet is crafted from a unique hybrid polycotton fabric, blending the best of synthetic polyester and natural cotton. This combination creates a breathable material that minimizes condensation inside the tent, ensuring a dry and comfortable environment, even in damp conditions.
The polyester adds strength and rip-stop properties, while the cotton enhances breathability, keeping the interior well-ventilated and warm. Unlike fully synthetic tents, the breathable polycotton fabric eliminates the need for an inner tent to manage condensation, making the Vern 1 PC an excellent choice for year-round camping in various weather conditions.

My Vern 1 PC seems well made and really sturdy as all the YouTube videos show. I cannot say much more at this point as I haven’t had a chance to use it, however I’m sure it’s going to perform just as expected or better!

Tent sets up quickly and feels grounded, heavy rain second night, lots of leaking from two top panels, hoping it was just setting fibres? Fingers crossed it’s gonna be a winner
