Is IPX4 enough for Australian weather?

For rain, dew and a splash off the washing up, yes. IPX4 means water from any direction, not water pressure and not submersion, so it will ride out a night of drizzle on a tent zip but do not drop it in the creek or the esky melt.

Will one of these light the whole campsite?

What is the red flash actually for?
