Stabilus
Stroke is how far the rod travels, so it sets how far the lid swings open. A 200mm stroke gives a decent opening on a medium hatch. Measure the gap between your mounting points closed and open — if your old strut moved further, this one will hold the lid lower.
No — the ball studs are separate, which is deliberate. It lets you match the stud thread and length to your own frame rather than being stuck with whatever came in the box. Check what your existing studs are before you fit, and reuse them if they are sound.
Gas pressure drops as temperature drops, so any strut lifts a little less in the cold and a little more in the heat. It is normal, not a fault. If a lid only sags in winter the force is marginal for the weight, and stepping up would fix it.
