Will an 825mm strut fit where my old one was?
Only if you have the room. At 825mm extended it needs a long, clear run between mounting points and space for the rod to retract when the lid shuts. Measure your old strut pin to pin fully extended before you order — length is the one thing you cannot adjust.
What is a 354mm stroke good for?
Tall hatches and lids that need to swing right up out of your way — a rear tunnel boot, a camper lid, a boat cover. The longer travel means the lid opens wider, which matters when you are leaning in to reach the back of a deep locker.
Is 330N enough for a big lid?
Leverage matters as much as weight. Mounted well out from the hinge, 330N holds a decent lid without help; mounted close to the pivot it will sag halfway. If yours will not stay up, try moving the mounting point further from the hinge before stepping up in force.
