No lock nuts means nothing stops the body unwinding once it's tensioned. On a static run you'll be adding your own lock nuts or seizing wire. If you'd rather not think about it, the version with lock nuts is the safer pick for anything that vibrates.
It's the trade-off you accept for quick release. An eye needs a shackle and a spanner; a hook drops onto a ring in a second. But an open hook can unload and jump off if the line goes slack, so keep tension on it or mouse it with wire.
Not as a lifting or restraint device. Rigging turnbuckles are for tensioning stays, lifelines and canopy frames, and this one carries no published working load. Anything holding a load on a public road needs rated gear with the rating stamped on it.
