Rollers if you want to ride better, a fixed trainer if you want to hammer. Nothing clamps the bike here, so you balance it yourself and your pedalling smooths out fast. Expect a wobbly first few sessions and set up beside a doorway or wall.
Wheelbase is the thing to check — 920 mm to 1,150 mm covers road through to most mountain bikes, so measure axle to axle. Knobby tyres will roar on aluminium drums and wear flat spots into the knobs, so fit a slick or a semi-slick first.
Do not. Rollers are loud, need floor space and a wall to grab, and a van floor flexes under the 5.5 kg frame plus your whole body weight. Set them up on solid, level ground in an annexe, a camp kitchen or a shed instead.
