Is three days of ice retention realistic on a hot trip?

Three days is the good-conditions figure: pre-chilled box, block ice, lid mostly shut, shade. Park it in the sun on a ute tray in January and open it every few minutes and you will get well short of that. Treat the number as a ceiling, not a promise.

Will it fit in the back of a wagon with everything else?

At 620 by 350 by 430 mm it sits along the back of most wagon cargo areas with the handle retracted, and height is the part that catches people, so check your cargo barrier and drawer system first. Empty it is 4.5 kg, so loaded it is a two-hand lift.

What is the removable basket actually good for?
