Common questions about Air HVLP Spray Gun Paint Gun 600CC Gravity Feed Cup 1.4mm 1.7mm 2mm Tip AU Stock
What sort of air compressor do I need to run it?
More than most people have in the shed. It runs at 35 to 50 psi, but pressure is not the issue — volume is. An HVLP gun draws air continuously, so a small hobby or tyre compressor will stall mid panel. You want a tank fed unit that keeps up.
Which nozzle do I use for what?
Thin material through the small tip, thick through the big one. The 1.4mm suits clears and thinner topcoats, the 1.7mm is the general purpose choice for most enamels and lacquers, and the 2mm is there for primers and heavier build coats. Start with the 1.7mm and adjust from there.
How much cleaning does it need after a job?
Strip and clean it the same day, every time. Paint left to dry in the needle and nozzle is the single reason these guns get thrown out. The cleaning kit, brush and wrench are in the box because you will use them after each session, not occasionally.
