Will 5m be long enough for my van?

It suits an 18ft to 21ft dual-axle van with the awning out. Measure your awning, not your van — the mat wants to sit under the full span with a bit spare at each end. Longer vans leave a bare patch where the chairs end up.

How does it handle wind?

Peg it or lose it. The stainless eyelets are there because a 5kg mat behaves like a sail in an afternoon blow, and a flapping corner will trip somebody. Peg all the corners the moment you lay it out, not after the wind picks up.

Can I leave it down on grass for a week?

Yes — the weave lets light and water through, which is why parks that ban solid mats allow this style. Even so, lift it every few days on soft grass and shake it out. Leave any mat down long enough and you will find a yellow rectangle underneath.
