Yes, and it is the thing people get wrong. A rope too fat jams in the sheave and a rope too thin rides up the cheek and chafes. Check the sheave groove against the line you already run before you fit it, not after.
Rinse it when you rinse the boat, and do not leave it sitting wet against gelcoat. SS304 can weep a rust-coloured stain in salt air, and the mark ends up on the deck under the fitting. A wipe and a squirt of corrosion spray each season handles it.
