Overview

Transform your Aussie campsite into a spacious, eco-conscious haven — the 5m x 2.4m recycled poly camping mat is perfectly proportioned for 18ft to 21ft dual-axle caravans, delivering generous coverage that creates a clean, comfortable outdoor living zone for family gatherings, morning coffees, or evening barbecues under the stars.

Made from over 500 recycled plastic water bottles, this ultra-lightweight 5kg mat proves you don’t have to sacrifice performance for sustainability in the great Australian outdoors. Its clever permeable design lets sand, dirt, and water pass straight through while protecting the grass beneath, so you leave no trace and keep your site tidy no matter the terrain.

With UV-stabilised fabric, double-stitched edges, stainless steel eyelets, and a grippy non-slip surface, it stands up to harsh sun, wind, and unexpected showers—ready for weekend getaways to the Grampians or extended trips along the Great Ocean Road.

Common questions

Will 5 x 2.4 m suit my van?

The 5 m length lines up with an 18ft to 21ft van, and the 2.4 m depth roughly matches a rolled-out awning. Measure your awning drop before ordering: if it extends further than the mat, your chairs end up half on grass, which defeats the point.

Does it really not kill the grass underneath?

The permeable weave lets water and light through, which is why parks that ban solid groundsheets allow mats like this. Stay put for a few weeks, though, and grass under any mat will yellow. Lift it and shake it out every so often and the lawn comes back fine.

How do I stop it lifting in wind?

Peg it. At 5 kg the mat will not hold itself down, and a gust under an unpegged edge turns it into a sail that takes your chairs with it. Use the stainless eyelets on the windward corners at minimum, and weight the awning-side edge with a storage box on hard ground.
