The Grid 200Ah is a dual battery system in a box. An AllSpark 200Ah lithium battery, a REDARC Alpha 50 DC-DC charger and an AllSpark Pro Series 2000W pure sine wave inverter are mounted, wired and fused in one case, so 240V comes with it rather than as a second purchase and a second install.
AllSpark rates the 2,560Wh battery to run a 40L fridge for up to 10 days, or an 80L upright for about 5. On the 240V side that works out to roughly 68 coffees, 15 kettle boils or 2 hours on an induction cooktop from a full charge. At 31.1kg with the inverter it can move between vehicles, and it doubles as backup power for the home fridge in an outage.
Charging on the move and at camp
The REDARC Alpha 50 charges at up to 50A from the alternator, including smart alternators, and takes fixed or portable solar from 9 to 48V on its own input. It uses solar first when both are available. Add a 240V lithium charger through one of the Anderson plugs and you can push the battery at up to 100A.
Outlets and protection
Two 50A Anderson plugs handle power in and out behind a 60A resettable breaker. The cig socket, QC 3.0 USB-A and 65W USB-C PD share a 15A breaker and the Posifit fridge socket has its own. The inverter is hard-wired on a 200A breaker and gives two Australian 3-pin outlets plus two USB ports.
Installing it
With basic 12V knowledge the install takes a couple of hours, because the only vehicle connection is a cable from the start battery to an Anderson plug. The AllSpark Grid wiring kit supplies that run; an auto electrician can fit it in under an hour if you would rather not.
Before you order
Each Grid is assembled to order in Western Australia, so allow 2 to 4 weeks before dispatch. Need more capacity? The Grid 300Ah with 2500W inverter adds 50% more battery. Already have an inverter? The Grid 200Ah without an inverter is the same unit minus the 240V side.
