Is the 19 litre side a freezer or just a cold box?

A genuine freezer. It will hold -22°C if you ask it to, and at 19 litres that is a few days of meat and a bag of ice for two people, with the 34 litre side doing fridge duty. Load frozen goods already frozen and it keeps up easily.

27.8 kg in a 460 mm tall box, where does the weight come from?

Insulation, the compressor and a cabinet built to be tied down and driven over corrugations. The low 460 mm height that gets it under a ute lid means the walls go out rather than up. Empty it is a solid lift; loaded, plan on two people or a slide.

Is 2.9 amp-hours too much for a weekend off-grid?

Not for a weekend with a decent battery and a drive between camps. It becomes a question when you sit still for a week in shade. Dual zone always draws more than single, so if you do not need a freezer running, a single-zone box treats your battery better.
