Common questions

PRO or Plus, what is the real difference?

More cooling, and more draw to get it. The PRO puts out around 2700W and pulls around 830W doing it, so it suits a longer van or a hot part of the country. If your van is small and you run off batteries, the extra output is capacity you will feel in amps.

Is 46 dB(A) actually quiet in a van?

The 46 dB(A) figure is measured indoors under test conditions, and it is genuinely better than the old rooftop rattlers. What the number never captures is vibration through the roof panel. Mounting matters as much as the unit, so insist the gasket is seated evenly and the bolts torqued properly.

Can I install it myself?

The lifting and sealing you can do with a mate, boards across the roof and butyl tape rather than silicone. The 230V connection is licensed electrical work in Australia and there is no way around that. Most people hand the whole job over once they weigh up the leak risk.
