Both the blind and the fly screen run on independent tracks within the cassette housing, allowing occupants to select light-filtering-only, insect-screen-only, or both simultaneously. Will the clip mounting hold on corrugated roads?

It stays put. The same clip that lets you pull the cassette off for cleaning holds it on when the van is moving. Before a rough track, run your fingers along the whole length and make sure it is seated everywhere rather than just gripping at the two ends.

Can I replace just the fly screen?

Not on its own, because blind and mesh share the one cassette. A torn screen means the whole unit. The upside is that swapping it is a clip-off, clip-on job you can do standing in the van, rather than an afternoon fighting a mesh repair that never looks right.
