Overview

The Camec Window Blind and Fly Screen Combination (600 x 430mm) is a compact two-in-one internal window treatment sized for the smaller portrait-orientation and square caravan windows commonly found in bathrooms, toilets and end-bedroom openings. The white PVC cassette integrates a pleated day/night privacy blind and a woven mesh insect screen on independent tracks, and snaps directly onto the interior window frame lip without tools or adhesives. The result is a clean, professional finish that keeps insects out and provides on-demand privacy at the touch of a finger.

This 600 x 430mm size is particularly popular as a toilet and bathroom window covering in Australian caravans, where moisture resistance and insect exclusion are daily requirements. The pleated fabric blind is available to pull down for privacy when parked at a crowded campsite, while the fly screen can be left in position whenever the window is open. Manufactured by Camec to consistent Australian industry tolerances, this unit is a straightforward drop-in replacement for any existing Camec blind and screen combination of the same aperture size.

Common questions

How is this different from the smaller size?

Width only. Both are 430mm tall, and this one is the wider of the two small options, suiting slightly larger bathroom, toilet and ventilation windows. Measure rather than guess, because the two sizes are close enough that the wrong one looks almost right until you try to clip it on.

Can I take it off to clean the window?

Yes, and you should now and then. It clips rather than screws or glues, so it lifts away for a proper wash of the glazing and the frame channel. Dust and dead insects gather in the bottom track, and that is what makes a screen look grey.

Does the blind give real privacy at night?

The blackout pleat does, and in a bathroom that is the entire point. A light filtering blind with the light on inside shows a lot more silhouette than people assume. Pull the blackout pleat all the way down to the sill rather than most of the way.
