How is this different from a blind and fly screen combination?
This is the whole window, glazing and outer frame included. The combination units are interior only and clip onto a window you already have. If your pane is crazed or the frame leaks, you need this. If only the fabric is tired, the interior combination unit is the one you want.
What does 430mm of height actually give me?
A long letterbox view rather than a tall one. That shape lands on lounge and slide-out walls, where you want light spread across the width without giving up the cupboard run above it. Seated, you look straight out. Standing up, you are looking over the top of it.
Will the acrylic go cloudy in the sun?
It is UV stabilised, which is what holds clarity through Australian summers. The bigger risk is scratching, because acrylic is softer than glass. Wash it with plenty of water and a soft cloth, never a dry rag over dust, and keep solvents and cutting polishes well away.
