Common questions about Baintech 50amp Anderson Plug to 15A Ciga Socket Lead
Why step a 50 amp Anderson down to a cigarette socket?
Because most 12V gear still ships with a ciga plug while the good power outlets are Anderson. This lead bridges the two without butchering either end. The socket side is the limit at 15 amps, so treat it as a fridge-and-accessories tap, not a winch feed.
Is 290mm long enough to be useful?
It is a tail, not an extension. At 290mm the socket sits right next to your battery box or Anderson outlet, which is what you want: short runs lose less voltage. If the fridge is metres away, run a proper lead and keep this at the source.
Will a ciga socket hold a fridge plug on corrugations?
Any cigarette-style connection can rattle loose, and that is the weakness of the format rather than this lead. The 16 AWG copper keeps voltage drop down, but secure the plug so it cannot wobble. If your fridge offers a hard-wired option, that is still the tidier answer.
