Does splitting the plug halve what each outlet gets?
No. Both outlets are rated to 50 amps, so neither side is throttled by the adaptor. Your real ceiling is whatever feeds it: the cable gauge, the fuse and the circuit behind that single inlet. Two loads still share one supply, so size that supply for both.
Can I run a fridge and solar through it at once?
That is the common pairing, and it works because both legs carry the full 50 amp rating. Just keep the solar regulator and the fridge on their own protection upstream. If one leg faults, you want that circuit to drop out, not the whole 12V system.
