Overview

Tycab's 8 B&S red single core battery cable is built for the high-current runs that keep a caravan or 4WD electrical system working. The 7.71mm² conductor is made of 96 strands of 0.32mm plain annealed copper and carries up to 74 amps at 30°C. The fine stranding keeps it flexible and holds voltage drop down, and the V90 PVC insulation is made to AS/NZS 3808 and rated for 60V, so it suits 12V and 24V DC systems.

This is the cable for wiring a dual battery system in a 4WD, running a feed from the tow vehicle to a caravan or camper trailer, or connecting a DC-DC charger, solar regulator or inverter. It also suits fridge and compressor circuits in a canopy or ute tray, and general auxiliary wiring in a motorhome or RV. The red sheath marks your positive line from the battery to the fuse block, so polarity is easy to check on a remote Australian trip. Always size your fuses and circuit protection to the cable and the load.
