Common questions
Will 31.5 inches fit on my van wall?
Measure the sweep, not just the wall. A screen this size on a swivel arm needs clear air to swing out and back, and the usual casualties are an overhead locker door, a curtain track or the walkway past the bed. Mark the arc on the floor with tape before you drill.
Does running it on 12V use less power than 240V?
Yes, and that is the real argument for a multi-voltage set. Feeding it straight from the battery skips the inverter, which means no conversion losses and no inverter sitting there drawing current all evening. Off-grid, that is the difference between watching a film and watching the battery monitor.
Will I get free-to-air channels everywhere I travel?
Wherever there is a transmitter. Rescan the tuner at every new town, because channel allocations shift around the country and a stale list looks like a dead antenna. Out past the towers you get nothing at all, which is where the disc player and a media stick on HDMI earn their keep.
