Common questions

Why 12V ignition rather than piezo?

Because it lights every time without you clicking and swearing at it. A 12V spark runs off the van's house battery, so it works when your hands are full. The trade-off is a wiring connection at install, and a flat battery means reaching for matches.

How do I check it will fit my benchtop?

Measure the cut-out, not the unit. The stove is 560 x 440 mm on the top with 58 mm of depth below, so you need that clearance under the bench and nothing in the way, including drawer runners and the gas line route. Cut-outs are unforgiving once made.

Is the glass lid worth having?

In a van, very much. Closed, it gives you back a slab of bench in a kitchen that has none to spare. A couple of habits go with it: let the burners cool before you drop the lid, and never shut it on a pot that is still simmering.
