Common questions

Will my van's inverter run it?

This needs 240V, and 2300W is a serious draw. On mains power at a caravan park it is fine. Off grid you need an inverter and a battery bank sized to handle that load, plus cabling to match. Check your system before you plan meals around it.

Do I need new cookware?

Probably some. Induction only works with pans a magnet sticks to, so cast iron and most stainless are fine while aluminium and copper are not. Test the pots you already carry with a fridge magnet before you rip the old cooktop out.

Why go induction instead of gas in a van?

No flame, no gas bottle, no combustion inside a small space, and the surface wipes clean in seconds. The trade-off is that you are tied to power, and with 2 zones you are cooking a main and a side, not a full spread. Suits solar setups and powered sites.
