How do I get a proper seal from a roll-top?
Squeeze the air out, fold the top over on itself 3–4 times so the folds sit flat and square, then clip. A single lazy roll is where most roll-tops leak. If the closure is bulging with trapped air, you have not pressed it down.
Is it fully waterproof if it goes overboard?
Rolled properly it handles spray, rain and a dunking. What catches people out is a half-rolled top or grit caught in the fold. If you are carrying paperwork you cannot replace on a trip with real capsize risk, back it up with another layer.
Will it fit a passport and folded charts?
