Common questions
What does the 80 x 360mm base mean for fitting it?
It is a long, narrow floor plate, which spreads load well but needs something solid under it. Screw into floor structure rather than the ply skin alone, and check what runs beneath before you drill — water lines and wiring live in caravan floors.
Can I put a heavy timber top on a 2.5kg leg?
The leg being light is not the issue; the 25kg rating and the 280 x 175mm top plate are. A big solid timber top levers hard on a small plate, so keep the top modest in size, or add a second support at the far end.
Is the swivel worth having in a small van?
Yes, mostly for getting in and out. Swinging the top clears the walkway so whoever is on the inside seat is not climbing over anyone. The catch is that a free-swivelling top can move while you drive, so park it against a stop before setting off.
