Overview

The NORTENT Skjul is a Norwegian-engineered ultralight bivi shelter built for solo adventurers who refuse to compromise on weather protection or packed weight. Tipping the scales at just 750 g without stakes and pole (990 g fully equipped), it's constructed from Arcx-n150B 15D ripstop breathable nylon — a technical fabric delivering a formidable 14,000 mm hydrostatic head and 15,000 g/m²/24h moisture vapour transmission rate. The hooped design, supported by an optional NORTENT 7.8 mm aluminium pole, lifts the fabric clear of your face for a far more comfortable night's sleep than a traditional flat bivi, while the 70D nylon floor (10,000 mm hydrostatic head, 150N tear strength) handles everything from granite slabs to red-dirt outback ground.

Designed for ultralight backpackers, bikepacking expeditions, motorcycle tourers, and anyone exploring Australia's remote terrain without a full tent setup, the Skjul excels wherever every gram counts. Its large dual-zip front entry with integrated mosquito netting makes it equally at home on warm Queensland nights — letting you stargaze without the mozzies — as it is during a cold snap in the Victorian High Country. For 4WD and caravan travellers, it also packs down small enough to stow as a capable emergency shelter in your kit, offering genuine 3/4-season protection across Australia's diverse climates from spring through to autumn.
